What are your pick up times for Fedex, UPS, and US Mail?
FedEx Ground/Home delivery service generally picks up no earlier than 2:30 pm with the driver generally arriving about 3:00 pm. FedEx Express (anything Express Saver or quicker, like overnight products) picks up around 4:00 pm. These times can vary, especially on days when FedEx is running but many businesses may be closed (for example, on Veteran's Day). On these days FedEx may pick up very early. We make every effort to let our customers know about any adjusted FedEx schedule, but sometimes it is just not possible. Please keep in mind that on holidays the pick up times may be very different.
USPS (not to be confused with UPS) picks up mail at about 2:00 pm. The mail carriers vary from day to day and the time of pickup varies rather widely, although it has never been any earlier than 2:00 pm. During peak shipping season the postal carrier may arrive as late as 5:00 pm; however, since the post office does not run a tight schedule like other services (such as FedEx) we have no real way to predict when exactly the postal carrier will arrive. Please ask and we will inform you whether or not the mail has been picked up.
Mail Box Plus is not a UPS (United Parcel Service, not to be confused with USPS, the US mail service) location, so we have no regularly scheduled pickup time. However, we do receive packages from UPS occasionally, and we have a UPS driver that will swing by as a courtesy to see if we have any packages to go out. He usually swings by once or twice a week. We charge $1 to drop your package here because of the fact that we generally do not handle UPS packages and sometimes it becomes necessary for us to take the packages down to the UPS store if the driver has not come for a while. If your UPS package is time sensitive, please take your package directly to the UPS store located in the Parkmore Plaza shopping center. Because we are not a UPS location, Mail Box Plus does not provide any documentation of your tracking number nor do we assert any guaranty of when the package will be picked up or when it will arrive at its destination.

Can I pick up a Western Union Money Transfer with just my name and I.D.?
Western Union no longer allows us to look up money transfers by name alone. In their continuing efforts to reduce fraud and protect their consumers, Western Union decided some time ago that they would allow agents to look up transfers by MTCN (tracking number) only. You MUST have that tracking number in order to pick up your money. And when you are sending money, remember that your MTCN is going to be near the top of your receipt.
How much are notary services?
Normally, notary services are $10.00 per each seal the notary places on the document(s). If the document requires two witnesses in addition to the notary (i.e. Quitclaim Deed, Power of Attorney) then the fee is $15.00 each. Each person whose signature must be notarized must present valid, unexpired picture identification issued by a state or government. The person MUST be present before the notary (the notary CANNOT notarize documents that have been signed by someone in some other location) and the notary CANNOT notarize a blank document. Also, in Florida notaries cannot attest to copies of public records such as Birth Certificates, because a certified copy of such records is available from the government agency which issues it.

Can I ship cigarettes via US Mail or FedEx?
*Via USPS: "With few exceptions, cigarettes and smokeless tobacco shipments cannot be mailed. This applies to domestic shipments as well as inbound and outbound international shipments. Cigars are still mailable." This is from the USPS website. You can find a list of the exceptions HERE. Even if your cigarette shipment qualifies for an exemption, it must be done in a face-to-face transaction with a postal employee, so it cannot be done at our store.
*Via FedEx: Tobacco items cannot be shipped FedEx Ground (as per the Restricted Shipments in the Packing Guide). For FedEx Express, "Tobacco products will be accepted only when shipped from a licensed dealer or distributor to another licensed dealer or distributor. The shipper is solely responsible for compliance with any applicable regulations, which may vary from state to state." (Service Guide link)
****Exceptions For USPS****
"472.23 Exception for Certain IndividualsThe exception for certain individuals permits the mailing of small quantities of cigarettes or smokeless tobacco by individual adults to businesses or to other adults. Such shipments may include, but are not limited to, cigarettes and smokeless tobacco exchanged as gifts between individual adults and a damaged or unacceptable tobacco product returned by a consumer to the manufacturer. For purposes of this rule, “gifts” do not include products purchased by one individual for another from a third-party vendor through a mail-order transaction, or the inclusion of cigarettes or smokeless tobacco at no additional charge with other matter pursuant to a commercial transaction."

How long do I have to cash in a Florida Lottery Ticket?
For online tickets (tickets printed out from the lottery machine) the deadline is 180 days. For Powerball, Florida Lotto and Mega Money, you have 60 days to claim the jackpot for the single-payment cash option. Prizes equal to or less than $599 can be claimed within 180 days at a Lottery retailer (we gladly cash tickets less than or equal to $599 as long as we have the cash on hand). Instant (scratch-off) tickets have to be claimed within 60 days after the end of the game. End of game dates for instant tickets vary. For a list of games that are about to have their last day to redeem, check Here.
I have a bar code on my phone for a pre-paid FedEx, can Mail Box Plus scan and process it?
No, unfortunately we do not have that capability; FedEx does not provide Mail Box Plus with the scanner to scan bar codes. Mail Box Plus had been part of the FedEx Return System for a number of years. Customers could bring in their email with a bar code or QR code accompanied by a long string of letters and numbers for the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and we could input this string of numbers into a special website especially for FedEx Ship centers, and the system would produce a label which we could put on the package. In September of 2014, we were notified that Ship Centers would no longer be allowed to participate in this program. If you have an email with a bar code, you can either print the label (not just the barcode and shipping information but the ENTIRE label) yourself or take it to a FedEx Office. The FedEx Office is located in Pensacola at 1520 Airport Blvd. (phone number 850-474-3796).
Can you print my photo/email/document from my phone or thumb drive?
No, we cannot. Mail Box Plus computers are special use computers (for example the terminal for the Western Union transfers is owned by Western Union and only does money transfers) and as such they both do not have the capability to print out from that terminal and due to agreements with the companies that own them, we cannot take the chance on downloading materials from someone else's phone, email or thumb drive. With the proliferation of computer viruses and ransomware, Mail Box Plus will not download and print materials from these sources. We also do not accept emails sent to us to print out. Any emails sent to the Mail Box Plus email for the purpose of printing out materials are subject to being deleted without the materials being printed.
Since Mail Box Plus can accept a debit card for Western Union Money transfers, can a Western Union Money order also be paid for by a debit card?
No, money orders must be paid for in cash. Even though W/U Money transfers and W/U money orders are both a Western Union products, Western Union only provides a terminal for debit cards for the money transfer computer. Money orders must be paid for in cash, although customers do have the option of using the ATM located in our store. Money orders CANNOT be paid for with a check in any circumstance, because money orders are prepaid; they are only issued after a buyer pays for the money order with guaranteed funds, such as cash.
